Verifying if KDP has already been tabbed

Postby Collers9640 » Sun Jul 06, 2014 6:48 pm

Does anyone happen to know of a way to verify the KDP has been do previously without having to remove the timing cover? I just bought another truck form a used dealer so I couldn't talk to the previously owner, anyway I can see grey rtv squeezed out on the cover so somebody had it off. Im hoping it was to fix the pin.
So is there anyway around having to reaccomplish the job?

There is a mark they stamp in to show it, no idea what it is though. Maybe do some googling.

If it wasn't a Cummins/Dodge place that did it the odds of it being stamped are pretty low.
