14mm head&rotor

Postby fasttalker83 » Tue Aug 19, 2008 7:07 pm

Ok guys I want to put a 14mm head&rotor and a 4mm cam plate in my pump what i want to know is what needs to be done to handle the fuel I do have 80hp injectors in the truck and the H1C/H1E hybrid turbo I was just curious what to do about cooling-lubricating the pump and should a electric fuel pump also be used with it

No personal experience here. But from a lot of reading I'd say you're skipping some steps. 80hp sticks are most likely PODs or similar, and are pretty small in relation to a 14mm pump. 6x16s and 6x18s seem to be what people are having success with. You definately need to run a good lift pump. Something comparable to the aeromotive a-1000. I don't know if anybody has run a 14mm pump along with a 4mm camplate for long enough to know how it will last. You'd probably be better off spending the money on some bigger injectors and a good fuel system first. Then more air. Then a 14mm pump when you're trying to get over 450hp or so.

bgilbert runs his H&R on a low pressure piston LP and larger lines. I think he has quite a few miles on it. As for the injectors, I feel like the 6X.016's or a set of 4X.018's would make big power and relieve some of the stress off the rotor.

Bill's 89 has an A1000, IIRC. He has been looking into other options, last I knew. The white auto has the low pressure piston pump.

I dont think the 14mm H&R is a first step, unless you have a goal of all out power, and know you are going to top 600hp or whatever.
