how much of what would be great.

thanks,

Lots of guys are running 2 stroke oil. There's a 120 something page thread on CF about it. I've run a little myself. Quieter, gain a little mpg, and it lubes. The nice thing is, it's made to burn. The general idea is to run about 1 oz to 1 gallon of fuel. Some guys run about 1/2 of that. Anything is better than nothing.

I'd never run ATF in my truck. Back in the 60's and 70's it was probably ok. Now it has so many additives in it I don't trust it not to hurt something.
Do you want friction modifiers in your IP?

I have made my own home brew which is dispensed in 12oz bottles its 1gallon of kerosene 1qt of tranny fluid and 1qt of synthetic iso 40w compressor oil I put this in a gas can then put it into a blender to mix well then I put this 12oz bottle to one tank I have been running this in 4 trucks for the past 7 months and its cleaned up a couple of them and I have never had a problem with running this plus theres is alot of miles that get put on in a month we have even went 5000 in a week in one truck, the kerosene is for a little cetane boost the tranny fluid is the best lubricant made and the compressor oil is a water dispersant, corrosive inhibitor and it has foam inhibitors its a good demulsfier I done alot of chemical research on each of the additives and this was the best combination I could make the stuff on the shelf is probably good but they wont let you put anything in there that harms the enviroment so I dont beleive they use the best things mixed together since the labs cant make them and as well in IL this is legal to do since it is done at home and cannot be tested just like running a greaser

And I thought I was anal about that stuff ! ! :P

But seriously, like Pete said, anything is better than the (next to) nothing you get with ULSD fuel these days. I believe one important factor that gets overlooked is the moisture / condensation / water aspect, especially if you have lost the WIF sensor somewhere along the line.

Fastalker also makes a good point about the off-the-shelf stuff. Those manufacturers know people are just dumping this stuff in their tanks and burning it. Some of it is probably just snake oil. There was a study done a couple years ago and posted all over the Internet showing a wide margin of results from the different fuel additives out there.

The point is, "oil," in it's MANY forms and formulations, is a natural lubricant. Motor oils, ATF fluids and gear oils normally have the additives and FMs used up or chemically decomposed by the time you drain it. Personally, I run everything through the Cummins in a homebrew mix. WMO, ATF, Power Steering, Hydraulic, gear oil, whatever. If it started out as some form of oil in one of my pieces of equipment or vehicles, it eventually gets burned in the old Dodge truck. But that is after it is filtered (sub micronic) and mixed back in with about 30% 2-stroke, and a dose of either Fuel Power (Summer) or white bottle Diesel Kleen (winter) at an overall 2-3% add ratio (half gallon per tank).

I would not worry about it unless you are megadosing (20-50%) oil. In that case, I'd be a little more careful about what you're putting in there, in terms of filtration and exactly what it started out to be, and what happened to it before you got ahold of it.

2-stroke is simple and easy, that's why I run it. I do notice a mileage increase too, although I've never figured out how much it is.

The best 2 fuel additives for performance and lubricity according to indepenedent testing are the John Deere Fuel additive and Standyne performance blend.

tranny fluid for an additive is not a good idea because it has a cuttin agent in it i heard people on other sites doing so i tryed it then my pump took a dump
