New 370 Marine Injectors

Postby opofus » Fri Sep 12, 2008 3:57 pm

I just dropped a set of 370 Marine injectors in my 91.5. Now I have low oil pressure (below 25 psi) at idle with the transmission in gear. Also it seems like the idle is low on the truck. What are the possible causes?

You are fueling different with the new injectors. The fuel is going out faster than before.
Either turn in the fuel screw until the idle comes up, or turn up the idle.

The low idle is making the oil pressure low. ;-)

Congrats on the new toys! 8)

You will be happier if you turn the fuel screw in more, not the idle ;) The harder these pumps work the more you'll like big injectors.

Fuel Screw Location

Postby opofus » Sat Sep 13, 2008 4:14 pm

Where is the fuel screw located. I have looked at the back of the pump, the only thing that I find that might be it is a long rubber sleve. Is that it?

Nope, that's a vent.

The fuel screw is, from the OEM, underneath a black sheetmetal cover. It's under the vent, farther towards block, on the back right bottom side of the IP.

You gotta twist and wrench the cover off with some pliers. It's not supposed to come off without breaking.

Depends on whose 370s you get. The marine 370s in the 2ndGens make about 20 LESS hp than PODs, all else being equal. If you get some EDMed 370s, all bets are off.
