Anyone ever seen a BSFC chart (brake specific fuel consumption) for a VE Cummins? I am curious to compare it to the P-pump version. BSFC charts are a good indicator of engine efficiency and torque at different RPM.
I have compared P-pump 12V and VP-pump 24V charts and while the 12V is more efficient at lower RPM (1600-1800) the rate of fuel consumption for a 12-valve rises very rapidly once you get much above 2000 RPM (it consumes much more fuel than a 24V by 2500).
I thought it would be interesting to see how a VE compares to a P-pump since it has dynamic timing and the P-pump is fixed.
