For all that, stock sounds good to me.

I would at least ring and stud the head. It is relatively cheap insurance, especially if you value your time. If you have some time while its apart pull out the die grinder and diamond bit and cut away at the rough castings in the exaust ports and smooth out the transitions where you can reach. Also pull out your new exaust gasket and port match the exaust manifold and the head. If your to busy just put the ringed head and new studs together and be happy. The port work is not really worth paying someone to do but to do it your self is great. (I got a real good deal on mine 8) )

A lot depends on what else you're planning on. How big of an injector you're planning on using...turning the pump up (i know it's a given...) and so on and so forth. If I'm understanding the others' thoughts on it all...as long as you're not pushing more than about 40 lbs of boost or so and not constantly abusing it, you are safe with stock head gaskets.

Mine is probably in the 500hp range (fuel only) and I drive it regularly and flog the heck out of it every chance I get. I tow an enclosed car hauler (up to 12000lbs) almost every week and I am about to drive it 1400 miles across the country. I would say that is full on regular use. This is all on a 14mm head as well. Thats what I love about these trucks. They are super reliable even with heavy mods. We shall see if the 14mm holds together over the long haul but I am confident.

The 400hp isnt that hard. Just do a 62/71/14 or 64/71/14 turbo and you should be there. For either of those turbos I would run studs at least thou.
