Well, I was going to take the Green Machine out for the maiden voyage with the new clutch, and I went to check the oil. When I pushed the dipstick back in it felt funny and wouldn't go. So I looked a little, pulled the tube out, and after pulling the starter out found that the adapter tube that goes in the block broke right there.
Is there any way to get that piece out with out pulling the pan? There's no way to pull the pan with out pulling the engine or dropping the crossmember. I looked it all over pretty good. I did wonder about unbolting the pan and twisting it sideways enough to drive the piece out. Anybody done this?
Next question, Dodge dealer, Cummins, or a used one? Anybody have a good used one they wanna get rid of quick?
Thanks guys, I was more than a little pissed about this, I wanted to go for a ride!
