Exhaust/stacks

Postby DieselSharker » Sun Jun 07, 2009 12:47 am

I just bought my first 1st-gen. Right now it has a 4" straight pipe with a 6" tip. I was thinking of going to a single stack. What is the biggest you can go on a 1st-gen? A friend of mine has a 2nd-gen 12v with dual 7" aussies and his sounds great. I wanted to go 6" about halfway up the back window if I do throw a stack on but I wasn't sure if it will affect the engine at all.

I stay with 5 inch stacks. Bigger then that you loose velocity and the smoke just kinda spills out. Its whatever you like. If you like 7's go ahead. My truck is multicolored and in need of paint but I still get lots of looks due to the sound and stacks.

That's what I figured. I might try and reuse the 4" that's on there now and just weld an elbow and a 5 or 6" pipe through the bed.
