should i swap turbos

Postby skilletky » Mon Jun 22, 2009 12:31 pm

i went to the track last week and finally got to really get on it with the new trans and converter. well the turbo lags real bad! even power braking it and spooling it to any where from 5 to 10 psi it still seems like it is taking it too long to build boost. i was thinking of swapping to a 62/65/14. is this a good idea or should i keep my turbo i have in my sig and just deal with it? oh, and it ran a 15.00. hoping to hit the 14's range this weekend, tinkered with the wastegate and fixed my throttle linkage problem.

What are your EGT's and have you checked your drive pressures?

You may need further adjustment on the waist gate?

Time for injectors. NE370's are not known for making hp in a 1st gen. Or send back the 14cm housing and tell them you want a 12cm or .70ar housing. That will spool a little faster.

i am gonna get a set of 6x16's next month, i thought about getting a 12cm housing but was worried about drive pressure and egt's getting out of control. i guess i could use an external wastegate with the 12cm housing.
