AFter 19 years of running and heat/cool cycles, it is just plain hard to get off- mainly rusted in place. You might have better luck taking it off the manifold and working on it on a bench or in a vice. I've had them be a royal PITA, and others came off with a light tap of a hammer. Lots of PB Blaster and patience will help you out.

i had to take mine off and use alot of pb blast and let it sit on overnight and pound on it with a dead blow and it finally came off.

first i agree with Ace on the nomination!! Second are your sure all four bolts are out to take it off the manifold? i didnt have a problem gettin mine off the manifold it was seperating the houseings that gave me an issue.

I would suggest using a brass hammer. It shock mating surface and gets it off real easy. I used one on my H1C with 180k worth of "togetherness" and it came off no prob. Just a thought.

I put a gds 60 on my 93. Never drove it with the original one so I don't know a before and after. The kit I used did not require machining. It was for an H1C.
