wastegate

Postby OLDEARL93 » Sat Jun 27, 2009 6:54 pm

Does anyone know if the wastegate of the 2nd generation hx35 turbo is set at 22 lbs, yesterday I towed my boat to the lake for some bass fishing and my truck did fine except that if I pushed it up up the hills on 4th and put it to 20 plus lbs of boost after a bit the wastegate would come on, I would loose boost , I let of the throtle and it would set it self and it would be ok without towing the truck has a 8 foot camper but it never did this before,if anyone has the same problem how did you fixed it.

You probably don't need or want a wastegate with stock injectors. My 12cm/60mm hybrid never made more than 30psi boost with a BD fuel pin, the fuel screw all the way in and the WG bolted shut. I actually removed the wastegate bracketry and used the holes to mount a small apparatus that literally bolts it shut tight. I backed the fuel screw out a couple turns after installing W/M to keep max boost below 30psi.
