Back to the top, I towed a 23' enclosed trailer loaded fairly heavily at about 70 MPH on semi flat hills to rolling terrain about 3 weeks ago. Would guess trailer and load weighed about 6500 for a combined 12500. Went about 350 miles with it. Got 10.7 MPG. This is with my '98 12V auto, 3.54 gears, 2-wheel drive short bed, TC locked up at least 95% of the time. What do you think. . . that MPG doesn't seem to be that great compared with what you guys are seeing.

truck see sig auto tranny 3.54s 33 inch mud terrains. trailer 18ft tandem axle flat bed. load 93 s10 my stroker project. the trip there was empty trailer 140 miles mostly flats and 75 mph. occasional 85-90 and some messing with otr trucks lol i got 17.5 then on the way back i got 16. load was about 6000lbs. that was with the stock turbo and no mods other than smoke screw and one turn on fuel screw.

same mods as in sig. 20ft bumper pull car trailer with 4ft walls all the way around. filled to the gills with oak fire wood. then back of the truck was heaping of cotton wood. now that load was heavy! i odnt have a clue how much but it made that truck feal it! shoulda seen the cloud at a stop light i couldnt see the sun for a few minutes lol. the tubo dropped my mpg from 18.5-20 to 14-15 empty and this load was about 10mpg

We Canucks have big fat 4.54 litre gallons. US gallons are about 3.79 litres. My truck gets 19miles per Imperial gallon towing my 26.5 foot fifth wheel at 100 kph (60 mph). Empty it gets close to 30 mpg at a slightly faster speed. Hills and crosswinds eat into my towing mileage as has the ultra lo sulphur diesel. I swapped a 410 for a 354 gear set and found it gave me better mileage although I now use first gear to launch when pulling. After converting the rear end, I did not like the increased gap between the gears. The 3200 gov spring fixed that problem.
