Bar the engine over using a 7/8's nut on the alternator nut.
Turn the engine so both valves on cylinder number 6 are open (pushing down), then set both valves on #1, intake on #2, exhaust on #3, intake on #4, exhaust on #5.
When done, turn the engine so that both valves on cylinder number 1 are open, then set both valves on #6, intake on #5, exhaust on #4, intake on #3 and exhaust on #2.
At each setting, the rockers on the valves that you are supposed to adjust should be loose. If they're not, double check something.
Stock valve lash specs are .010" on the intake and .020" on the exhaust. Loosen the lock nut, back out on the adjusting screw, put the feeler gauge in between the valve and the rocker, run the screwdriver down the adjusting screw with two fingers until the slight resistance to turn becomes harder to turn, then tighten the locking nut.
