Stock lift pump blues

Postby tim curran » Tue Apr 27, 2010 1:37 pm

I have come to the conclusion that my stock fuel pump just aint cutting it. What is the best option to replace it. Should I ad an electric fuel pump to my stock mech. I know I could put an airdog pump on, but right now i don't want to spend 500 bucks on a pump.

I just installed a holley black pump and a homemade filter and bypassed my factory pump and filter
and i can hold 12 psi at idle and 9 at WOT and thats pretty good with my mods, the stock pump was
holding 5 at idle and at the instant i punched the peddle it would drop to (0) psi, so i'm very happy
with my $145.00 pump. some members are using the knock off holley black and they have the same
results as i do but for 1/3 the cost, i think i saw some on e-bay for $45.00 plus S/H.

I like the piston style mechanical lift pump, i personally dont like reling on an electric pump for a daily driver.
