Ideal idle rpm

Whats the ideal rpm at idle for a hopped up dd 1st gen? My tach is ran off my alternator and says 700 at idle in park cold now. I feel that is to low... What do yall get at idle? Park and gear?

with a manual i like 900, but with an auto 700, 800 IMO

I like low RPM. Mines at 650, that is what the engine plate specs.

I have a 93 engine that has a stock idle of 800, which is what the engine plate says

According to my tach when cold mine idles at about 580. I am just fine with it there.

Happened to see it in the FSM tonight. 700 in drive with A/C on for the auto. 750 with A/C on for manual trans.
