help fix white smoke

Postby remi » Sat Dec 31, 2011 6:57 pm

i was driving up a grade and i noticed white smoke out of the stack, so i pulled over there and was no antifreeze in oil an i empty the fuel filter from the water release valve. what else should i check to help eliminate some possible problems?

Was your coolant system holding LOTS of pressure when you checked it. That could be a sign of a head gasket problem :yuck:

Doesn't take a lot of antifreeze to make white smoke.

Take it on a run again and feel of the top rad hose,if its hard as a brick that's not normal.

Thanks for posting the solution to your problem. Many times we search threads and find all kinds of advice and diagnosis...but never a final response telling us what the problem ended up being.
