Where to buy turbo oil fitting HX35?

Postby 1990BamaCummins » Sun Feb 26, 2012 1:40 pm

I just purchased an HX35 with 16cm housing and the oil pressure line adapter fitting isnt in it like the intercooled first gens. Mine is a 1990 and from what i read the intercooled trucks had the fitting you need.

Pure diesel power sells one but the picture doesnt look like what i need. Its an o-ring style adapter fitting that threads into the turbo (male end) and the oil pressure line threads into adapter fitting (female end) My oil pressure line IDK what size it is but is a male fitting that has a regular double flared end.

If anyone knows where to buy one of these adapter fittings and know the thread sizes for the adapter fitting that would be awesome.

From what i read the adapter fitting threads are 12mm x 1.50 that thread into the turbo. Idk what thread or size the oil pressure line are? Or what the adapter fitting thread size (female side) needs to be so i can thread the oil pressure line into adapter fitting that would already be threaded into the turbo.

If anyone knows i would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance guys.

Cummins sells it. Don't have the p/n handy though. Less than $10, IIRC.

I believe it's the same adapter on the oil filter side of the hose. You could pop it off and see if there's a Cummins number on it somewhere.

Sounds like more money and time lol i was hopin to just get the fitting and tighten it up and be done but didnt know it was such a PITA to get a D*MN fitting.

I wish it was already on the turbo when i got it but thats my luck. Thats how things go for me, 1 step forward, 3 steps backward.

My local Cummins shop is a PITA. They won't look ANYTHING up without a ESN. Even for something that is a common part on these engines. The new 6.7L uses the same adapter too.

And not to toot mine:

Tacoclaw wrote:I happened across 2 of the HX35 fittings in my garage while I was cleaning up and putting stuff on my truck. If anyone needs them, I'd gladly loan them out until you found a replacement.

I say loan them out since I hate to get rid of something that I may end up needing myself sometime, but as of right now they're not doing anything.

Since you need it and I'll have one left, you can go ahead and have it.

Just PM me your Address and I'll get it shipped out.
