intercooler upgrade?

my intercooler is pretty much shot. used stock replacement and powerstroke upgrade seem to be about the same price and availbility--actually, haven't found too many stock coolers--question is, how big a deal is the powerstroke conversion? from what i'm finding, it doesn't sound too bad, but haven't seen pictures or complete write-up. not sure if my needs require a bigger cooler, but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt...fwiw my a/c condenser is long gone...thanks k
