Throttle shaft leaking

Postby cummins32 » Sun Apr 15, 2012 8:38 am

My throttle shaft started leaking a few weeks ago, It quit for a while, but after I put my denny t fuel pin, in and it leaks like crazy lol. How hard is it to replace the gaskets.

I resealed the top of the pump, only having a faint idea of what I was doing, in an hour and a half. If you can install a 366 spring, you're good to go. DGK121 is the reseal kit you'd need. It's about $20

^X2. Take your time, there is a few little parts that like to grow legs and wander off. Pay close attention to how the throttle shaft is lined up, I used a paint pen on mine, worked pretty good. The top goes on a heck of a lot easier with the fuel screw backed out a lot, beats having to fanaggle it all back into place

Yes, this ^ too. If you bon't back the fuel screw out, you run a higher risk of breaking the arm it pushes on.

As long as you are sealing up just the top, no need to pull the pump. ;)

Sweet, one more question lol, To index the throttle I, need to write down, where the marks are on mine and put them back in the same spot when I put it back together.

That is a good idea, if you can get the camera to focus that close as the marks can be a bit hard to see to begin with. I used a white paint pen, and then wiped the excess paint off when it was wet as to leave a little paint in the marks that are in the throttle shaft and the bracket.
