Postby TRACTJDS0428 » Fri Apr 13, 2012 9:15 am

what is the normal boost on a 12 valve with a non waste gated turbo? mine is completely stock and 25 to 28 psi is as high as mine gets. what is a good first upgrade and what kind of money am i gonna spend?

If you've already done everything in that thread, then a big air filter and 4" exhaust are the next mods usually.

If you've got that, then I guess te next question is what do you use your truck for?

Here's what I got by crossing numbers. You'll have about another $80 wrapped up in the spacer plate, line, gaskets, etc. if you go this way.

It's HFP702, towards the bottom of the page http://oregonfuelinjection.com/index.php?pid=32

I think your doing just fine if your getting 25psi of boost. I was getting 12psi with my stock 21cm H1C and i am now getting 28psi with my he351cw with 9cm2 housing. All with stock pump settings.

Oh yeah I didn't really mention boost numbers, huh?

I'd say you're doing alright for an IC'd truck. My non-IC'd '90 would just edge out a 35psi gauge with it's stock 18cm turbo and injectors, but it wasn't doing itself any favors up there.

OK. I found the pump. There is a thread on here that shows part numbers for a lift pump install. Are those the numbers i will need for the line and spacer plate....... or does oregon have a kit for the switch?

You're welcome :wrench: If you have a stock turbo, you have an 18cm housing or maybe a 21cm housing. I'd bet it's 18

I called my local dealer and they can get me all the swap parts except the spacer plate. the part number on here doesnt work they say. Could anyone get me a measurment on the exact thickness of the spacer so i could machine my own? Or a known good part number for the low pressure piston pump spacer needed for the swap from a diaphram style?

I took all those numbers to Scheid and they had no problems. Double check them, I often write things down wrong lol
