hx 35 rebuild

Postby skilletky » Sun Jan 22, 2012 10:11 am

is there a good place to get a rebuild kit for a hx35? didnt know of some are better than others. also thinking of throwing on a 60mm comp wheel, will i need to have it balanced? if i searched correct, this turbo was balanced as a unit, has the 12point shaft nut. dont want to scatter it.

I know a few guys, myself included, have gotten their rebuild kits off e-bay. I haven't got around to rebuilding my HX35 yet, but the kit is very complete and looks fine.

Nice to see SOMEONE finally acknowledging that the HX35 kit also fits the HY35 and HE341/351cw turbos!
It also fits the HX40, too.

Just a little note, HOLSET either changed their bronze shaft bushings in these kits, or they went to another supplier, because the older kits had an oiling groove in the bushings and the newer kits no longer have the groove, that is unless someone's selling me kits as "Holset" kits, and they aren't.

There was a supplier in Indiana, on Ebay, that was selling HX35 kits WITH the thrust washer under the bronze plate, which Holset charges extra for and does NOT include in the rebuild kits.

Mark.
