I remember reading that JQmile's did the same thing. That's the truck's way of thanking you for the go-fast goodies

Were there any symptoms/noises that led you to look at the pump gear?

Yup, shriveled up and purpleish! I saw them the other day as I was looking for her car keys! And it's kinda hard to stop me from going when I tell her I'm going to work early and leave. ;)
And don't get me started on you........

142, he was playing with his timing, jumping the gear a tooth and noticed it. Or caused it. ;)

Nope, was gonna jump a tooth and do the kdp mod and seen it. I'm kinda-sorta feeling that wouldn't have made noise. It was tight on the shaft and had a solid end,it didn't keep going. I HAD a thought of drilling the end of the crack to stop it,had it magna-fluxed to find it and that SOB it hard. My bits just rode on top and never even scratched the surface.

Jon what did you do for yours?

Hey Mr pete, it was already there

Almost 7yrs ago I bought water instead of fuel  and had my pump ruined and replaced it with a reman. I think I might have done that then.
How much longer yall reckon it will last?
Gotta stop that crack at least,if I put it back on :|

Ellis, i recall you describing a noise while driving. mine has the same noise. sounds like a valve tap, loose rocker noise under constant part throttle driving. not there at idle or under load. just started about six months ago. i wonder if the gear is the source of your noise. i have a pump gear you can borrow till you get another if you need to. i'm in covington so its not too long a ride. i'm curious to see if it makes your noise go away. pm me if you want to borrow the gear.

Daryl, thanks much on the offer man but I've got one coming today. Hopefully I'll have it Tuesday or so

IDK on that pump gear being the noise. It was spread open a bit, but it stopped half way thru the gear, close to one of the holes. My belief was that one of my old injectors was/is the issue. With the number of parts I'm about to put in I'm afraid it'll go away and I won't know between the two. If it goes away great if not I'll do like the wife and turn the radio up
I'm about done spending money,I'm at 1200$ so far and I've still not done all I wanted to :yuck:
