Slide Pin in AFC Will not push out.

Postby Buford89 » Sat Oct 20, 2012 10:37 pm

Guys,
I went to install my DB fuel pin and found out the slide pin in the AFC will not push out. I have no idea how long it has been like this. What do I need to do to fix this?

Thanks

1. Welcome to 1stgen!
2. There's a plug on the front of the AFC that is removed by an Allen key. Take that out and you'll see the lever that pushes on that pin. Get some spray oil of some sort in there and gently tap that lever forward to push the pin into the fuel pin's bore. Take a flat screw driver and push the pin back in. Doing that a dozen or so times freed up the pin for me.

There's an o-ring on that pin that sometimes gets torn and then your AFC may get some fuel in it, but a reseal kit is cheap and not too hard to put in.

you will also have to pull the throttle lever off to get to the plug. the shaft that comes out of the pump is splined and can go into the throttle leaver a dosen diffrent ways so make sure to mark it or you will have to take it appart a dozzen times to get it in the right spot. also it is spring loaded so make use you pay attn. to how everthing hooks up.

It depends on the pump. The plug on mine could be easily accessed, but I have seen several other throttle levers that would be in the way.

Try to get the plug out before you take apart more than you have to ;) Been there, done that
