HX 35 swap

Postby 91cumminsd250 » Thu Oct 24, 2013 9:18 pm

Hey guys, I've got a 91.5 (intercooled) with the stock turbo, only things I've done really is 4 inch exhaust and a Denny T stage 2 fuel pin. Looking to get a better turbo, just wondering if its worth trying the hx 35 or doesn't it really do much? I've heard it lags with the auto trans. Hopefully it'll whistle a little bit too mine sounds like a tractor still! And anyone have a decent one for sale in northern IN? Thanks

Well if you have the fuel pin already I would also add a 366 spring and then toss a hx35 on it yes it will do what you want as for Lag I haven't seen that with mine but I have 410's

The hx-35 should come with a 12cm exhaust housing. It was not laggy compared to the stock one when i had one installed

I see them on CL all the time, but they're overpriced. $200 for a used turbo is crazy in my opinion.

I bought the generic hx35 off ebay and I have been very pleased. Not laggy at all with my auto. You will notice a huge difference when you go from a 21CFM to a 12cfm housing. nite and day. I paid $300 for mine and it was new. People say they break easier than a genuine holset but I haven't had any problems. Easy swap, took about 1/2 hour.

you could always put the hx exhaust housing on your h1c if you need to do it cheap. I bought a 16cm housing with the elbow for 50 bucks shipped.
