What to do next?

Postby 90cumminscoal » Tue Nov 19, 2013 10:56 am

Hey guys I've got a 1990 with 5x14 sdx injectors, 366 spring, he351cw, air dog 150, devils own stg2, mighty diesel 70psi head bolts and mild pump work . I was wondering what's next I'm just wanting a play truck I've got a 2nd gen manifold I can put on but don't know if I'd benefit from it. The he351cw that's on I don't really like so would like opinions on that thanks.

Sorry about that I have a sb double disk. The he351cw doesn't feel like it gives me the power I'd like boosts great and all but I don't think there enough volume of air.

Yeah, they're an S300 turbo. Pretty sure it's an aftermarket turbo only.

What is "devils own stg2"? Is that water-meth injection?

My vote goes for the 62fmw... best turbo I've been around.

Yes w/m kit. And I thought about jumping a tooth but didn't know if I was to that point yet. That gov spring is pretty high ain't it? And what valve springs to go with, should I do the exhaust and intake the same?

If you are going to do valve springs, yes.... do both intake and exhaust. Toxic Diesel valve springs are the most affordable and seem to be quality (haven't heard of any issues) otherwise go Cummins.

If you ever plan on going big enough to need a tooth skipped....do it now. If it's too much timing, rotate the pump back all the way and it puts one about the same as stock and 1/4" bump.

you will need a 4 inch downpipe with the hx40 flange to installe the s300 turbo. case pressure is how much fuel pressure is in injection pump. it is not the same as the fuel pressure coming from the airdog lift pump. definatly jump a tooth on the timing. you can mess with case pressure regulator on the injection pump by knocking the pin in a little bit. but only do it a little bit. i wouldnt really recomend it unless you just want to mess with things for the hell of it. i knocked mine in pretty far, could definalty tell a difference, but it also created fuel leaks from the pump. i have no idea what my case pressure is, mainly because i dont care enough to check it.
