ok, so as i was getting ready to call mark today and see what his thoughts were, i had one of those :bh: moments... lesson of the day, wire yur wastegate to the motor not someplace else that doesnt twist with the motor, so hopefully sunday i will get a good bracket built so the wastegate will have no way to open, or wire to stretch.
got it almost up to a whopping 30lbs of boost  affor it started to move my wire and open the gate( i think)
sooo next report will be sunday :D

I've been saying that for years. Many still don't get it. They just want big numbers on the boost gauge to brag about.

well, got a bracket made for my wastegate so it stays all the way closed now, and it is a huge improvement over the hx-35 i used to have. havent done much testing yet so i dont know boost numbers or top end egt numbers yet, but it cools the bottom end waaayyy better, and it is almost always making boost, so theres not hardly any lag, overall i say it was a great upgrade :D :D

I don't get why you disconnected the wastegate in the first place?

Bye-bye good mileage and headgasket.....................

Ultimately a BAD idea to do this.

Meh, you can pick up the AFC spring enough that it won't push down 'till 10psi or so. I'd kill for off-idle boost, and anyone that says they wouldn't are liars. ;)

LOL, Tacobell!
Set right, the 'gate will let that happen, without the side effects of toast-a-la headgasket.

I anxiously await actually using one of those turbos, myself.

Yeah, I always wanted one too. I want one of the variable ones though. There's nothing I love more than making my own ghetto-ass control setups for extremely complicated things. I figure one of those would be almost perfect for me.

i dont like turbo lag and i have headstuds so il be good for a while, were getting good at changing headgaskets anyway
and i removed the wastegate so i could turn the compressor housing to fit the intercooler pipes i already had, i may come up with a new piping setup someday so i can use the wastegate, but for now im happy :D

As much as I would be honored to meet the mysterious Begle-fowl, I feel he would be disgusted by my lack of linguistic skills and insanely jealous of my amazing good looks.

Maybe we could do a sitcom together...

Bye-bye good mileage.

i understand where your comin from on the bad milage part, but it runs cooler by 100 degrees on the highway (600 degrees) and in tern less heat= better milage?plus the motor sounds like its hardly even working compared to before
