Really?! I've never had one leak on the old Holley pumps pressure. Then again it was only 14psi hitting it too,not 25. Guess I'm gonna get the fancy one

Well I finally got my stuff together,it's all used

Well the spacer I bought second hand from a dude that hadn't used it,5$ instead of 15.

Figuring on using that heavy gates rubber Trans cooler line in half inch to hook it all up. Also using brass hose barbs, should work, huh?

Well back to this.....haven't done it yet  . I've not been able to stop working long enough to put it all together, but now I've the week between Christmas and new years that I take off every year. I have however bought another piece,an electrical autometer fuel pressure gauge and column pod to install as well. I bought them off of Ebay for half of what the gauge costs.
Question for those of you running an electric gauge......do I need an isolator between source and sensor? Or will it even pulse with the regulator,as it must be installed after the regulator because its only a 15 psi gauge?

Been buzy today, got the hplp on with regulator

T'ed my return using the push connecter style ends, in case I have to put it back stock if I break down
Image
And my wad of fuel lines
Image
Even managed to install my column pod and fuel psi gauge

Went and drove it,pressure stayed at 10psi for awhile and would slowly creep up the higher the RPMs were. Guess I'll have to hook up that boost reference thingy huh,if left unchecked it'll probly push fuel out of my pump :/

That boost reference thingy is to add more PSI with more boost.

I would be willing to bet the return is too small.

Bummers.......guess I'll work on that tomorrow then. As a temp fix I might drop the psi to 5 and run the crap out of it to see what happens,I want to use some aluminum tubing that a local federated auto parts store has here,if they don't have enough I'll have to drop that pressure

I do believe the return is only 1/4" so maybe run new 3/8" or 1/2" for your supply and switch the old 5/16" to the return. I was planning on doing something like this. Doesn't appear to be too hard.

Sadly, the person to know is banned right now. :?

Run the chit out of it this morning with the reg set a 5psi,by 3200 it was touching 12psi and holding there. That's good cause my tubing is on order and might not be here in a timely fashion :/ .

After I finish with this supply mess I've got going I reckon its time to put the screw to the fuel screw

In all of my tinkering with this truck its the one thing I've not fooled with,I refused to mess with it cause I wanted to see how far I could go before adding the cheap power. Trucks no slouch now so adding to it is gonna be nice

So.....the old man is liking the extra fuel its getting, runs smoother now at cruising speed(70),seems to idle better cold as well. Its even a little harder to make it puke smoke, not that I try hard, with the same afc settings. Star wheel is to be tightened up a little later to make nearly all of it go away as I'm no ricer diesel guy and like my rear bumper to look like chrome
Back to the regulator thing,I'm waiting on my tubing right now and had a thought(scarry I know, hurt too :D ) what needs to happen with my fuel module. Can I keep the same hook UPS or do I need to butcher the top of my tank? What have you all done?

I've actually got all of my returns going to the normal, tiny return hole in the top of the tank. I haven't noticed any problems, but I don't have a PSI gauge to see what it's doing either. I just gauge my PSI on whether the truck is running and if the crankcase is full of fuel. As long as it's between those parameters I'm happy.

I wouldn't really sweat your psi is going up with RPMs, it's not like you're driving around at high idle all the time. (Are you?). If it doesn't crest above 30 at any point I'd just run it.

No,there's no high idle except for its usual 1000rpm hot idle, with that it only reaches maybe 8 or 9psi with the high idling. If I'm rowing gears it stays around 11 so thats where I want it anyhow,I really need to haul something, put it to work,to see how it does. That's where it'll be pulling the most fuel with me.

Crank dat sthi, son!! I set mine at 15psi idle, I don't know/care what it does otherwise.
