Check the IP gear nut, that pic looks awful familiar to the smoke my truck was making a couple years ago. The IP nut got loose enough that the gear was lashing (so says the mechanic). And I got <7mpg when it did that.

I'll be checked....thanks for the reminder,I've experienced that once before :? . I hope it didn't happen tho, last time it did that I put thread locker on the nut,it should have stayed with the red stuff.

Pump nut was tight.....it was injectors 1&2 that were stuck open. I installed the 7x10s and am motoring again :)

Ellis, what gauge pod is that and where did you get it? I'd like to find the older style that wraps the dash, but that's looks good too

IIRC its for an 03ish dodge dash and it was bought at genos. Be warned, there's a good amount of rubbing with a file to be done to make it fit the contour of the dash. It wasn't bad to do,just takes time.
The only reason I have it there is because the first owner had that banks stuff on it then removed it.....and left the holes in the dash.

As a side note.....this is the first time my truck has ever spun a tire in 4th running 45mph.....very cool :) useless for me but cool none the less

Maybe the pump is coming apart inside and dumping metal into the injectors.

Don't know,it's getting torn to pieces tomorrow after a compression test and cooling system pressured up. Somethings gonna show,if not the timing cover comes off. I ain't playing with it

I'm with pete...........sounds to me like something somewhere is shoving something into the injectors.

There wasn't much difference between the 5 to 7s last time.....this time, they're akick in the pants to run. I'm telling you,I can mash on it in fourth and break ONE tire loose

A common annoyance with my 91. Always after pushing hard with a heavy load. The tip of an injector or 2 would get fouled messing up the spray pattern. Injector cleaner and running it would clean it back up. The source could be oil from blow by, or valve guide, or carbon off a piston. Type of injector didn't make any difference. Just started running less oil and more cleaner in my fuel mix when towing, that helped.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.

I think it's more in depth than that,it'll clean up now :?

I put these injectors in yesterday morning and cranked it. It choked, puked, sputtered and smoked for awhile then straightened up. I ran it to tune it and go get tables and chairs for the boys party, then let it set for 4or5 hours. In that time it screwed up again. It did the same this morning when I took it to the Shop. It's weird.....

It's got me thinking headgasket, timing issue

Mine would smoke like that Ellis when the timing was slipping.
