If not making more than around 300hp, the best way to do it is open up the stock intake and extend it through the front valence - true cold air intake. The stock filter is rated for 450cfm:

You can replace that stock/OEM air intake muffler with something bigger for a tremendous improvement over stock . . .

That's a portion of my cold air upgrade as well.

I'm going to do the stock pot thing if I ever need to go to a BHAF.

I saw this pot job :lol: you did friday and sat I was at Big lots, A local close out store, and saw one with a small dent in it for 10.00 bucks. So guess what I am working on for my BHAF ;) Thanks for the idea, cool as all get out.
1993 1st gen BHAF -Smoke screw 2.5 turns, star wheel 2.5 turns. Fuel screw 1.25 turns, fuel pin ground.

i just bought 4 inch tubes of of intakehoses.com and put a napa 2790 on my truck its called a BHAF it realy makes the truck whistle
92 3/4 Cummins with coverted getrag 5 speed, 4x4 PODS,3200 Gov spring,16cm housing, 4inch exhuast homemade downpipe, water meth,hx35 turbo,5 inch stainless intake with AFE filter, fuel turned up, timing bumped boost,pyro guages, Denny T fuel pin,coolertubz,piston lift pump
