I think its real cose to being as cheap buying the 2nd gen lift pump and then getting a fuel regulator. The low pressure setups are way to much now.

Yup. The spacer is because the 2nd gen trucks have a strainer that mounts there, and the spacer takes the place of it. The line can be rebent, I've been told. It comes out differently than stock, so you need to do something with it.

electric pumps are junk in my opinion why put a weak link in a fuel system im sure some pumps are good but ive always seen then as a weak link that is definitly going to fail at some point I just put a 30psi pump in my truck with a mallory boost refrenced regulator the truck pulls stronger and never seams to run out of fuel 15-17 psi normal driving 18-21 psi under heavy load at over 30 psi of boost I couldent be happier and I only paid 300 dollars for the whole system

OH, REALLY?
About this time last year, when I put the '91 VE engine in the red '96 that later got sold to Pullit, I used the '96 Piston pump set-up that the '96 came with on the '91 VE pumped engine I installed in the truck.
I didn't have any adverse injection pump issues, no blown pump gaskets, no leaks, just put it on not knowing there even COULD be an issue.

The pump did rupture the diaphragm to the block, loading it with diesel, but I am certain it was age/mileage (300,000 +/- miles) related, not an incompatibility issue.
Plus the P/P assembly had laid unused and dry for 3 or 4 years before I re-used it.
This is confusing, because nothing seeming to be out of the ordinary happened, now I learn it could be an issue?

I just acquired a '95 Ram P/P assembly and was intending to use it later to upgrade on the carhauler, since it draws from a tank nearly 20 feet away.

Mark.

every set up seams to tolerate diffent pressures ive read some older posts from cumminsking and kta and they all seem to agree that the front seal blows out at about 25-30psi I know they were taking about ways to keep the seal in because aparently the problem is the seal body staying in the bore not actually the lip of the seal leaking

There is a "new" and "updated" pump. You can't get the old one anymore, and the cost is about $300. At least from the Case/IH dealers. I went thru this when I tried to get one for a buddy. Nuthin's cheap any more!
