havn't had a problem with mine. If you've gone through three I'd say it's somthing you are doing wrong.

idk, but ive sent everyone of them back and they have told me that is was the probes fault, and the last time they sent me both a new gauge and probe, now its jus reading way to cool, no way after romping and stopin on it can the temps come down to 150 degrees before i can even get to a stop, lol
i dunno what i would have done wrong, ive checked everything, cus thats what i thought also. :?
id take any suggestions autometers are exspensive, lol

Make sure your engine to chassis ground is clean and secure. When I 1st put my pyro in back (autometer) it did some goofy stuff, i.e. needle jumping around on its own and most especially when I turned on the headlamps. Turned out the ground cable on the front of the block was dirty and kinda oxidized. I cleaned and tightened it and added another ground strap from the firewall to the cyl head and the jumping around stuff went away.
