Fuel Filter Spud Part # ?

Postby Broncobilly72 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 8:57 pm

Hello all! Just signed up after hearing of this site on DTR. I am wondering if anyone would happen to know the Cummins part #, for the fuel filter spud? I searched the Cummins site, but can't locate anything for a fuel filter spud? I also searched the part # forum here and on DTR, and haven't located anything. I am installing the 2nd gen fuel heater. The spud on my 93 W250 was on so tight, I had to use a vice grip to get it off. A big flat head screwdriver wouldn't budge the spud! So; the threads on the spud got chewed up
TIA!, Broncobilly72

Thread with #'s if you want to delete your fuel heater:

Don't see much about the stock length stud, and a Google search didn't turn up much either. :|

I wouldn't put on a 2nd gen heater, most people take them off. I think they aren't as good a quality as the 1st gen ones were. My '92 has 220k miles on it and the original heater and my '97 had 154k and I threw the heater away because it was sucking air. It melted the plastic between the pins in the plug.
JMHO. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.
