Engine computer ?

Postby GIT-R-DONE » Sat Sep 22, 2007 5:03 pm

My question is : are all the engine computers the same for our trucks? Will a 91.5 intercooled ECM (if that matters) work on a 93, or vis versa? Are automatics compatible with the sticks?

The '91.5 PCM is unique to that year.

Unique to what year?

The year from 91.5 to 92?

Only '91.5 trucks use that PCM.

Did they still use the external voltage regulator on the 91.5?

Stick and auto should be different too. Auto has the TPS, I'd be surprised if it was the same. I could be wrong though.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I believe the PCM from a stick to auto will interchange, as long as it's 91.5 to 91.5 or 92/93 to 92/93. I have swapped with Mom's (known good, auto) a time or two for troubleshooting, and nothing was amiss.
