Fuel Heater Leak

Postby cmann250 » Tue Apr 17, 2012 5:58 pm

I've developed a leak on my fuel heater and pin pointed it to the sensor. Does this little sensor have an o-ring on it? The FSM doesn't show anything about it. I need to save every drop of this liquid gold that I can

Upon further research, there is no o-ring there. It's one big plastic piece and the plastic likely cracked. A 2nd gen one will work, but I'm debating deleting it all together. Either way, I'm going to get a 1221 filter at my next due fuel filter change to get rid of the plastic water drain on the bottom

The fuel heater does have an oring on top. I don't have the part # for it, but you can get it from Dodge. I think the last one I bought was about $3. The next time I change my fuel filter, I'm going to delete the heater. The heater delete stud is part # 3925954 $20 from Cummins & J925954 $10 from Case.

Thanks for the delete P/N! I know the plug-in is molded as part of the heater and I'm pretty sure the plastic is cracked. I'll just delete it the next time I go for a fuel filter

Alright thanks hansen. I don't order many parts off the internet because have a Scheid 10 miles away from my house. Saves a bunch on shipping and they have it the next day :D
