Can I take out the shaft, impeller and block the hole in the cartridge that the shaft goes through..put the turbo back in the truck..can I drive the truck in this manner till I get a replacement turbo???

I don't recommend it! I know it's going to smoke like a pig, and EGT's are going to be really high. You're going to need something more than a plastic plug to seal the shaft hole. The air going by there is going to be in the above 900* range. Plus, it has to seal the oil in.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I was going to cut the shaft and peen the bearings around it to hold it in place.....

already considered duct tape, bubble gum, paperclips, JB Weld........:)

Ditto what he said. If you HAVE TO move it, you can start and idle around with no turbo, as long as you have a place for oil to go.

Are you looking for a stock turbo to put in place? I have a couple of holsets I use for door stops tha I may get rid of.
