Air conditioning rebuild

Postby singlesmoker06 » Thu Apr 26, 2012 6:21 pm

Well today I got all the parts to rebuild my a/c system that hasn't worked since I got the truck, changed the dryer, the block by the blower motor under the hood ( can't remember the name of it) and the compressor, everything but lines and condenser , my problem is that when pulling the lines off the compressor , the bottom line (smaller fitting) started to come off easy then got real hard, tried tightening then loosening several times , didn't matter still stripped part of the compressor threads off in the fitting. Tried cleaning them up but won't work and don't want to mess up the new compressor threads, where can I get lines?? Napa?? Rockauto?? Looked on Rockauto they have me for 117$ but can't wait for shipping need them this weekend if possible and would like to replace all gaskets/ o-rings when I do hopefully the lines come with them but I doubt it.... Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

Check some auto shops or parts houses. Pretty sure some make hoses.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

The intercooled hoses are different and harder to find. I replaced mine using dealer parts and I believe he told me I got the last liquid line left in the country (he could be very wrong). Dealer prices were pretty low like $80 for the big line?
