While the head is off and the radiator is out I plan on replacing as much as I can since some stuff is 20 years old now.
OEM Radiator is OK, but scaly inside and some green staining in one corner so I just plan on a NAPA unless somebody has a better idea? No radiator shop around anymore...
I've been told the original rad hoses are silicone and to just keep and reuse them. What about my tranny heater hoses? Theres a few of the same 90* pieces that the cab heater hose has. While everything was out of the way I though I'd do them too. Are they silicone as well?
My plan to replace with new:
head gasket (complete kit, stock thickness)
water pump
thermostat
head bolts
manifold bolts/gaskets
belt
and kill the dowel pin if its not dead already
Any suggestions on what else I need to consider replacing while this whole mess is apart? Most everything is 10+ years old. I have no free money to upgrade but hate to have it all torn down only to have to dig back in in a couple months/years for R&R.
