Ater Installing Injectors??

Postby Mike T. » Sun Oct 07, 2007 6:51 am

After installing new injectors I noticed I had to raise/adjust my Idle speed,is this normal? Do new injectors run different after a period of time?

Thanks
Mike

I've also noticed that the engine doesn't idle as smooth as with the stock injectors.

are they stock replacement ones? You may want to check and see if you have left one of the original copper rings in or pinched one.

Thanks eyoung 429..

I think I found the problem  me. When we took the old injectors out and saw the copper on the bottom, we thought it was the washers. When I took a closer look I realized it was just residue. I normally don't rat myself out but maybe this might help someone who pulls injectors for the first time. I just hope there's not an issue getting the two washers out.

Try a 90 degree dental pick, it should be easy to feel where the washers are.
