Leaking Vacuum Pump

Postby mhuppertz » Tue Oct 16, 2007 7:50 pm

My vacuum pump is weeping like a Yankee fan, and now I'm loosing vacuum to the point that the heat doesn't work half the time.
Any advice?

First, get the seal kit from Cummins for $8 (I'll have to look up the part number), then reseal the vac pump.

Once you get that figured out, I'd look everywhere for vacuum leaks in the lines from the pump to the heater controls, to the vacuum sensor. Actually, check the sensor first, as I had the same thing happen in my 91.

Good luck; keep us posted.
