Fan bearing delete ?

Postby D-dog357 » Sun Jan 13, 2013 8:19 pm

I'm planning on installing twin elec fans and was wondering if it's possible to delete that $200 paper weight with a shorter serp-belt ?

Seems to me it should be a good way of loosing that expensive pain in the wallet. Two junk yard fans are less then half the of one bearing and can be set up in series so that 1 comes on at a time as needed for cooling. Just need to have a simple divider between the 2 sides of the custom shroud.

What have you done with twins (rad fans)?

You can buy the bearing for the fan idler off of Ebay for less than 50$ shipped,I've seen them on there before. That's less money than running some weirdo belt no one has in stock whenever it decides to break
