Dangling wire ?

Postby D-dog357 » Wed Feb 06, 2013 5:44 pm

So I was putting my pump back to stock settings to pass smog and noticed a wire handing off the IP. It's a black wire about 3-4 inches long that comes off the same stud on the IP as the blue wire, just above the delivery valves.

Can someone tell me what it does and where it belongs ??

Thanks - Eric

Are you sure it's not dark blue? It's probably the power feed to the thermo switch for the KSB. Power comes to the solenoid, then back up that other wire to the switch, then back down to the KSB.

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

Could be IDK. Looks black even with a flashlight on it. ---

Just went out and scraped the "black" paint off - Me bad ! But it was gray not blue.

It was broke off right at the loom right behind the throttle cluster bracket, however it did go to a temp switch on the intake. So it is part of the loop you mentioned.

The IP parts break down on Bomber's lists the KSB as a "pusher electromagnet" right ?

Could this broken wire also cause cold start surging as per my other post of the day ???

Thanks for the help Toombs !
