NON I/C Injector Lines On I/C'd

Postby CumminsPride » Thu Nov 29, 2007 6:39 am

Will the lines work off a 89-91 non I/c'd on my 91.5?? I have one that is getting slightly rusted and I am going to change them with the next set of sticks that go in. I just thought that since the earlier ones were slightly bigger there might be a benefit in the future???

I don't believe the diameter of the lines are any diff between I/C and non
the injector it's self is.

The lines are not interchangeable. They are shaped diff because of the intercooler and the diff position of the intake air horn.

Appreciate the pic but I don't see why the intake horn is in the way?? I am thinking the lines are just slightly bigger. I found a clean set of used ones off of a 90 for $20. That's why I'm asking.

Yup! Me too!

Flash is right,...They are routed different and you'll have to do a little fabing if you want to keep the outer brackets that hold all the linkages

I think I took side by side comparison photos,....Pic's are on the puter at home

If you guys had 1/2 a clue, you'd buy the e-bay ones! I can get them at work, cost is about $18, list is $33. EACH!

Good job Wade! ;) Be careful bending them. If you put them in the clamp, and they have tension on them, they will break later on! Try to bend them so they lay close to the clamp with out pushing them to it.

Ask bgilbert about the exact specs, but the ID of the lines is different. 1.8mm vs 2.0mm rings a bell.

I'd think a person with moderate skills would be able to make the nonIC lines work on an IC truck. Leave the lines alone, and fab the brackets to go where they normally would on the nonIC engine. I dont think the intake horn would get in the way.

The biggest thing would be to get new delivery valve holders. The nonIC stick out about an inch farther than the nonIC.
