S362 and 6x16s = 30psi ??

Postby cummins32 » Tue Jul 08, 2014 10:05 pm

I recently installed a set of new era 6x16s, an s362 and bumped my timing to the head, when I out the truck in dire it lopes really bad but is fine when I give it throttle, I think I just need to bump my idle up, anyway I'm not running nearly as much boost as I thought I would, and when I brake torque it, I can't even build a pound of boost, I've been toying with the pump trying to get it dialed in but I'm not making any progress ? It's studded also, any ideas ? Thanks

Check for boost leaks.

Already did, forgot to say that lol, it's got a small hole in the intercooler.

Any little leak testing is a big leak trying to build power. Also is the 362 gated? Sure its not already hitting max boost and waste gate opening?

It'll peg the 1600 degree gauge out but I have to really try to do it, cruising there 6-700 and when I mash it about 1300

Sounds like massive boost leak, or the gate is opening. What are the specs on the 62?

What are you running for fuel supply also?

That's probably your entire problem. It is probably flooding it out so bad down low that it is never recovering.

So it needs a different exhaust housing ? And I was driving it today and I figured out A lot of my problem, my boost gauge is mechanical and it kept blowing the hose off everytime id drive it, blew an intercooler boot off earlier so it's definitely building some boost id say, it's pulling a Lot harder, it just won't spool it when I brake torque it, but when I put the truck in drive or cruise at low rpms, it's a lope/ buck to it, too low of timing ?

Lope/buck is either an injector issue or too low of idle. Well, usually that's it.... it did start when you put in the injectors, correct?

Find, if you can, the rest of the specs on that charger.... a T4 foot is ridiculous to try and spool, but knowing what the a/r and turbine wheel sizes will help to know as well.

Your DennyT 2 pin isn't helping either. Try a stage 1 or get a stock one.
