Lube for A1 head studs ?

Postby jethro » Mon Dec 22, 2014 10:50 pm

have read that A1 didn't recommend a particular lube for head studs.
I was considering crane cam break-in grease or maybe permatex antiseize ....
or maybe something my local speed shop / engine overhaul shop recommends along the same lines.
Probably a top fuel engine builder would know the most proper answer since I have read that they use the most
extreme strength (and cost ) studs available ! I have a small squeeze tube of some assyembly lube from
the grease company "sta-lube". I wasn't all that impressed with the looks of its viscosity and whatever base
they had mixed in with it.

Any suggestions ?

Got the head studs tonight !
They sent some kind of lube-in-a-tube with A1's name on it. Instructions say to use engine oil on bottom threads and the magic lube on top.
