High Durometer Engine Mounts

Postby mhuppertz » Tue Jan 06, 2015 2:54 pm

Anyone found better motor mounts for our trucks? I keep wasting the best factory design mounts I can get. They make them for later models, but I can't find any for a 1st gen.
Second option would be to build a torque strap out of multiple pieces of big, fat tow strap and bolt it to the frame and engine.
As it is my engine looks like a croc that has just bitten down on a wildebeest and is attempting a death roll!

Is there any way to fab frame mounts to use the second gen mounts? Does someone make a kit?

They look a little tougher and surround the attachment bolt with steel if the rubber does give out.
