I need a turbo. But which one is right for me.

Postby 1990fummins » Thu Feb 19, 2015 9:45 am

Okay so I've done a lot of reading in many many forums and still have yet to make my mind up on a turbo upgrade. My truck is a 1989 non-IC and has the following upgrades: 100 hp injectors, the head has been shaved down, 3200k governor spring, fuel pin, the fuel has been turned up. Should I get an hx35, an H1C off of an Intercooled 1st gen, or an H1C off of a 1994-early 95 2nd gen? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Auto or manual trans? What are you doing with the truck? Do you have gauges?

It's a manual. The motor is in a ford and it's going to be my daily driver, tow some things here and there, blow some smoke, that's about it. And yes it will have a pillar guage set on it

HX35, HE351Cw.... but neither of those will burn the fuel from 100hp injectors.

Realistically... 62fmw, 62/65, etc.. is what it'll take. The 62fmw is fantastic for spool ability.
