M14 injector fitting??

Postby LandTug2 » Mon Mar 23, 2015 1:38 pm

Well ordered some 6x16 injectors from Rocken Tech. Heard mixed reviews but thought I would give them a go. Told them I needed injectors for a 93 intercooled CTD. They said no problem, shot a set out. First off they sent 9mm injectors instead of 7mm injectors. Sent them an email and they shot out another set speedily. Just got them all in happy I had the right ones and went to put the lines on just to find that the male end of the injector is too big for the stock fuel line fitting! Looked at their website and saw that it says M14x 1.5 orifice size and I believe ours are M12x 1.75... . Why would they do this in the first place??? Do they expect us to have aftermarket lines? Has anyone else run into something like this? If so, what was the remedy?

Sounds like they used '94 and up P-pump injector bodies. (I'm guessing).

Thank you for the response. Well dang that is disappointing if that is the case. I contacted Rocken Tech in the mean time to see if they have a solution. Do you have any suggestions to get her back on the road in the mean time? I thought of maybe cutting down the threads on the injector but not sure how well that would work.

I'd get my money back and go with a reputable vendor. Perhaps you might consider The Hungry Diesel http://thehungrydiesel.com/

Sorry for the reeeeaaally late response rc, thank you for the options. Definitely got burned on that deal. Stuck me with a 30% restocking fee because they were "heavily used" Anyways, I would have gone to you for some new sticks but had a new set of 5x16s fall in my lap for free so those went in. Ill let you know if these dont work out though!
