Holset turbo Identifcation help

Postby DodgeFreak » Wed Apr 22, 2015 6:58 pm

I bought this turbo assuming it was an he351, got it home and it is smaller.....He341s or as I found out is Hy35 type D turbos had mecanical waste gates where this one is electronic. Also from research says the 341 has a 58mm Inducer?? This one is 54.5-55mm inducer with a 76mm exducer on the comp side. That being said how would it perform compared to the HX35 thats on it??

Pretty sure the 35 has a bigger turbine wheel than the 341/351. 70/60 mm vs 64/58 mm. Looks like the 35 and 341 share a compressor wheel. We need a dyno thread 341 vs 35, and 60 mm hybrid 35 vs 351.

The hx35 has a bigger turbine wheel which I've started modifying the he351 exhaust for it but didn't think to machine the back plate for the bigger exducer. I need to send it back to Levi or find some one here to machine it for me. The hy35 has the same wheels as the "341" and the same turbine wheel as the 351. If I can't find any info on this one I'll just buy the 351 wheel from be turbos and try it.
Should I find a place to balance it or just run it??
