Throttle linkage help

91.5 auto with cruise 5.9diesel w/IC - I have 3 throttle links on got to pedal one goes to trans and other goes to vacuum. I'm deleting curise and need to know if I need to keep the one that goes to trans or not

Yes you do, that linkage is your "kickdown" cable persay. Since your right there, may not ba a bad idea to check and make sure its adjusted properly

If I was more technology capable, id paste a link to it over in the sticky section of diesel truck resource. But if you go to dieseltruckresource.com, in the 1stgen section there is a sticky, has almost everything one needs to know about these truck.
Its been so long since I had an auto I cant remember the setting

thanks. kinda regretting the whole automatic thing now. and iv learnt that the next diesel i buy will be 2000 or newer

Might I suggest 03 or newer. My 01.5 has been such an expensive PITA I will not do buy another 2nd gen 24 valve.
RIP 91.5 W250 5 speed. The great experiment.
92 W250 HD 47RH with Compushift. Upgraded H1C to 62/60/16, Scheid Lightning VE, 60# valve springs, DAP 7X.010 injectors, 4" DE exhaust, home made cooler tubes.

dont get me wrong i love the square bodys and old school mechanical cummins. but dang i never would have thought wiring and parts would be such a PITA

On the tv cable.. set it where it shifts best. I find the linkages are so sloppy that getting it set to factory setting is a crapshoot at best. Once you change pump fuelling from stock it (the tv cable) needs to be readjusted to get the trans to shift optimally. Newer trucks...suck. This is 1stgen! :mrgreen:
