when i painted a lot of motor parts on my 5.9 i used regular ol' motor block paint from autozone i think it has some enamel in it i don't know. im wonder what you all used on your motors

Detroit Diesel Green. 8)

I used normal auto paint out of a HVLP gun, but hit it with some high-temp primer beforehand.
1990 W250 4x4
Rattles, growls, whistles, and whines.

mine is, uhh, oil based you might say. especially around the front cover lol

Oh yeah, mine is vaguely greenish towards the rear, the timing cover is quite black.

the oil base black cover is my next thing to tackle but its safe to say some parts will never rust

Duplicolor gold engine enamel for base, and duplicolor metalcast red so the end result is a red that pops
Ducati- professional nap taker, and thread derailer extraordinaire
Brownie: 80 dodge heavy half. Ghost cummins under the hood, and some sinister plans
The Roo Hunter: 93 w250, lifted, 2 whistle machines, and a bunch of other go fast goodies, uhh..... not there yet
Jaeger: 12 ram 3500. Lifted, exhausted, and fed an excessive quantity of air
The Huntress: 02 Jetta TDI. No muffler, egr, horsepower

I picked up a few cans of OEM Cummins Bluke. It has held up pretty well.

I use the high heat enamel as a base and regular paint over top of it.
